The gîte is an authentic mountain dwelling built of local stone, wood and (lauzes). Perched at 1000 m altitude, it dominates the high Salat river valley in the high Couserans and offers a splendid panoramic view of the Mont Valier.
On the farm next to the gîte you can make the acquaintance of all the animals and observe the activities typical of a mountain farm: the daily comings and goings of the goats and sheep, the milking of the goats, cheese making, and general animal care. Our principal activity is the production of organic goat's cheese.
In the immediate vicinity there are many activities to enjoy: kayaking and rafting on the Salat, horseriding, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing (directly from the farm), trout fishing in the river or in the stream that flows by the gîte. And of course there is plenty of walking and hiking as the gîte is located on the GR 10 transpyreneen hiking trail. There are also mountain guides locally who can take you on themed walks.

The gîte comprises a large living area with kitchen and fireplace with integrated wood stove, a dormitory with to sleep 11, a bedroom sleeping 5, bathroom facilities (2 showers, 2 toilets and 3 washbasins) and a terrace with a barbeque.
You'll be surrounded by our animals: goats, donkeys, sheep and of course dogs and cats.
We will warmly welcome you and offer you copious meals prepared with produce from the farm: cheese, goat meat, charcuterie, vegetables from the garden, homemade bread and jams...
At just 1 hour 45 minutes from Toulouse and 15 minutes from Seix, the gîte is perfect for a short or long break to breathe the pure mountain air. Come alone, with family or friends, self-catering or with half-board. At Rouze you'll be able to de-stress in the peace and quiet of unspoiled nature and abundant wildlife.
