Gîte The Little Barn at Pinsou in Aleu - Ariège Pyrenees

Sleeps 4-6 + baby | MAP | CETTE PAGE EN FRANÇAIS

Pinsou – altitude 800 metres – is a quiet and isolated hamlet located at the end of a winding mountain road 10 minutes drive from the village of Aleu in the High Couserans.

GdF*** Terre-et-Nature

Set in the middle of fields and woods, this recently restored barn stands in its own grounds and enjoys spectacular views of the Mont Valier and the Pyrenean mountain chain. Although entirely restored using ecological materials, retaining the appearance of an Ariege barn was paramount (slate roofs, exposed stone walls, wooden window and door surrounds. and larch-cladded extension). The interior – wooden floors, stone walls and lime/hemp render – is light, airy and very comfortable, yet sober.

The barn is a little paradise for anybody who loves wild flowers (in spring), birdsong and the chanting of crickets (in summer), or spotting the occasional wild animal (all year round). Although completely on its own, the barn is a mere 2 minute walk from the house where the owners – Sandrine and John – live with their 3 daughters aged from 8 to 13 (so any additional information is easy to find !).

Walks – for walkers of all ages – start from the front door.
