![]() Le Pélioou is a restored stone barn situated at 850 m elevation on a southfacing promontory between forest and pastureland, enjoying a superb panoramic view toward the high Pyreneen peaks as well as the Garbet river valley and the village of Ercé below.
In former times the farmers from the village brought their herds up to the pastures around this and other nearby barns for the summer and cultivated the fertile, terraced land. Nowadays Mérens horses have replaced the cows on the summer pastures, but the barn constructed of granite and slate has retained its original aspect. |
| The interior of the gîte has been renovated for maximum comfort: a terrace and veranda have been added to the original building so as to be able to admire the view any time of day or season. Total peace is assured as there are no neighbors or noise other than the sounds of cow bells or mountain streams.
There is no lack of activities in the area : walking, fishing, horseriding, mountain biking, skiing (the ski station Guzet is visible from the barn)... Even on rainy days you can contemplate the mountains from the enclosed veranda while reading or watching TV. Description of the gîte
