Gîte Nougué in Seix - Ariège Pyrenees
Situated at 800 m altitude in a small hamlet of two houses, our mountain gîte is superbly placed: independent and quiet, it overlooks the valley of Seix and enjoys a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. The beautiful village of Seix has all commodities: restaurants, bar, bakery, grocery, pharmacy, doctor's surgery, sporting goods shops, small weekly market, etc.
Right near the gîte you'll find footpaths for walks during which you can admire the local wildlife, and in the vicinity you can practice just about all mountain recreational sports: kayaking, walking with donkeys, paragliding, rockclimbing, mountain biking, etc. Skiing is within easy reach at Guzet station about 20 minutes away.
The Saturday morning market in St Girons is not to be missed -- it's one of the biggest and most colourful in France. Its neighbor St Lizier is a cultural delight and all the tourist sites Ariège is known for – Cathar castles, prehistoric caves – are easily accessible.
