 Maison Pujol stands on the mountainside at 640 m altitude looking south in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Ariege and has outstanding views of the Pyrenees. The property extends for 3 hectares (7 acres) across the mountainside. The Maison Pujol is a traditional mountain house located a few minutes walk from the owners' house, in which they also offer bed and breakfast accommodations, with a swimming pool and tennis court in between them. From the house you can see the Chateau de Montsegur and from the gardens you can see the Chateau de Roquefixade which is in the next village. There are many small villages to explore and all around are magnificent views. The valley is one of the sunniest in the Ariege.Leychert itself is a small village with no shops but facilities nearby are excellent with the nearest large supermarket a 15 minute drive away and small shops in a local village 10 minutes away. Lavelanet is 11 km distant and Foix 12 km. There is a wide selection of restaurants, bars and cafes around at varying prices from the simple pizza to fine dining. Le Sentier Cathar, the famous pathway of the Cathars, winds its way up the mountain behind the house. This pathway starts in Foix and leads to Narbonne, 250 km of beautiful walking trails. Many walks can be taken directly from the house and the views over the valley are magnificent. |
| The gîte comprises First floor: Bedroom 1; One double bed and wonderful view. Facing south. Bedroom 2; Double bed and wonderful view. Facing south. Bedroom 3; Three single beds with view over garden. Facing west. Bedroom 4; single bed. View over garden. Facing east. THE BEDS CAN BE REARRANGED TO SUIT. There is a bath/shower room with WC and a shower room with WC on the first floor. There is a separate WC on the ground floor.
The newly fitted kitchen is well equipped with oven, conduction hob, microwave and dishwasher. The utility room contains a large fridge freezer and a washing machine. There is a line for drying clothes in the garden and, if required, washing can be tumble-dried for 5€ per load. The gite has its own garden area with table and chairs and barbeque. The swimming pool and tennis court lie between the main house and the gite and are for the use of guests at both the gite and B and B. There is a table and benches by the pool and also cooking facilities which may be used by arrangement. We have a fantastic flower meadow with a huge variety of mountain flowers including several varieties of orchids. We also have 4 resident donkeys. Maison Pujol has very steep stairs and is not suitable for people with serious mobility problems. There is a fixed safety gate at the top of the stairs. The facilities are suitable for small seminars and study groups on its own or combined with the accommodation at Las Coumeilles. Table d'hôte is available by arrangement. PIANO LESSONS Trish ran a very successful piano school in England and still does a small amount of teaching. Courses for those interested in piano playing or preparation for the diploma of teaching can be arranged. |
