This little restaurant (seats 30 maximum) is in the hotel of the same name, "Les Oussaillès" which means "Les Montreurs dOurs" (trained bear displayer) in patois. The inhabitants of this valley specialised in this unusual occupation, traveling as far as the Americas with their bears.
Gaëlle Charrue welcomes you for lunch and dinner all year round in either the charming dining room or in summer on the terrace with a view of the mountains or in the garden under the great linden tree.
In the kitchen her husband Jean-François and the chef Julien Lecuyer will concoct delicious dishes for you, such as seared tuna steak with sautéd mangos or thin slices of duck breast with a sauce of honey and hypocras (a medieval spiced wine).
The cuisine is traditional, based on local produce, although Julien, having spent some years in Guadeloupe, proposes an menu of dishes from the Antilles by advance reservation in June, July and August. |
The restaurant's pluses :
- child menu
- high chair available
- animals admitted in the garden |
Nearby tourist sites :
- Thermal station
- Ski station Guzet-Neige
- Many walking trails in the immediate vicinity, notably that leading to the Ars waterfall
