The name of this hamlet, PEYRE, means "pierre" in Occitan. It's situated in the Volvestre area at 500 m elevation in the Petites Pyrenees and has an exceptional panoramic view of the mountains on either side of the Mont Valier. It is equidistant (4 kms) from two nearby villages Fabas and Sainte-Croix Volvestre, and one hour's drive from Toulouse, Lourdes and the famous Cathar fortress of Montségur.
The rental price is according to the number of people. The beds are made when you arrive and a beverage offered. Price is all inclusive (water, gas, electricity) and household linens (except bath towesl) are fournished. The house is NON-SMOKING AND PETS ARE NOT ACCEPTED MODALITES TARIFAIRES ET DE PAIEMENT : arrhes 30% de la location à joindre au contrat de location saisonnière retourné sous huitaine, signé, solde à l'arrivée et dépôt d'un chèque de caution qui sera rendu sous quinzaine. Housecleaning is your responsibility or can be provided for extra charge at your request. From 2 October to 30 April the house is operated as a Bed and Breakfast (2 nights minimum). |
The holiday rental property is composed of two houses:
The second floor of the Ostalmestre (about 108 m2) and the Ostalnòu (about 280 m2).
The ostalmestre (family house), of which I occupy the ground floor and first floor, has two independent entrances. The one reserved for your use leads to a small salon that gives access to the 5 bedrooms on the second floor.
Each room is equipped with:
- 2 single beds
- a shower, sink and wc
- an electric radiator
The floor is covered with a wool carpet and the bathrooms are tiled. One of the bedrooms has only one single bed.
This constitutes the sleeping quarters of the rental, which is quite well protected from the ambient sounds of the daytime quarters.
The ostalnòu is a renovated house. It's "plus" is the view, thanks to its large bay windows.
The ground floor comprises:
- a large dining room with a woodburning stove set in the fireplace (firewood is provided at extra charge)
- a large kitchen with a double sink, 2 sinks for washing up, a professional, gas-fired two burner hob, a micro-wave oven, dishwasher
- a pantry with refrigerator, freezer, clothes washer
- a large bathroom
- a separate wc
The entire ground floor is in white tile. Oil central heating included in the price.
On the first floor:
- a double mezzanine: reading salon with bookcase, flat-screen television and desk
- wool carpet on the floor and stairs
The 5x10 m pool is protected by a movable cover and equipped with "ozonex" filtration (natural disinfectant replacing chlorine) and a solar shower whose use is obligatory before and after bathing. The use of the pool is entirely your responsibility and will be shared with the mistress of the house (or Cap d'ostal).
Peyre is a haven of peace and tranquility, comfortable and perfectly equipped. It is very suitable for family reunions or seminars.
