South-facing at 1000 m altitude, this attached 18th century house full of character enjoys a breathtaking view of the Ariège Pyrenees.Situated on the edge of the lower part of the village of Sorgeat, its terrace and private garden look out over the valley. Sorgeat lies on a sunny plateau near walking and mountain biking trails and ski stations, 30 kms from Andorra and 40 kms from Spain. In the immediate vicinity you can enjoy a full array of outdoor activities, all year long. In summer: - Walking and hiking on long-distance trails that lead to the highest summits. You'll be enchanted by the diversity and abundance of wildlife as well as the beauty of the numerous mountain lakes and rushing streams teeming with trout. - Mountain biking on waymarked trails on the col du Chioula 4 kms from the gîte, suitable for all levels of ability. - Horseriding in the village of Orgeix 8 kms away - Rockclimbing for all abilities at nearby cliffs or at the mythic 1000 m high Dent d'Orlu (the "tooth" of Orlu). All these activities can be practiced with professional guides (information at the gîte). Also nearby are the "accrobranche" park and the Wolf Park in Orlu (9 kms), the pool at Ax les Thermes (4 kms) as well as prehistoric caves, animal parks, etc. In winter : |
