It's situated in of Ercé (350 inhabitants), a small mountain village in the Couserans area which has maintained its rural character, with numerous cattle farmers who still practice the "transhumance" -- driving their herds into the high mountains for the summer.

After magnificent walks in our wild mountains, you can relax on the private, interior terrace and admire the snow-capped peaks, then enjoy a barbeque in the fresh summer evening air or in front of a log fire in the cooler months.

The interior decoration, while respecting the soul of this typically Ariège barn, retraces my many travels. With great pleasure I'll tell you the story of my great-grandmother the itinerant peddlar, about the fascinating lives of the 19th century bear trainers unique to this valley, and the immigration many Ercéens to New York and maybe even about my own adventures through the desert.

On the first floor is a bathroom with angle tub and a wc, a large bedroom with a double bed, 2 single beds, bedside tables and another double bed on a mezzanine (access via ladder).

Surface area of the ensemble is 57 m2; heating is by electric radiators and fireplace.

On the paved terrace is garden furniture and parasol; there is also a grassy area with lounge chairs.

For your leisure activities there is a tennis court in the village, an exhibit about the Montreurs d'ours (bear trainers), a swimming hole, a rock face for rockclimbing, a horseriding centre and of course numerous waymarked walking trails. The thermal spa at Aulus-les-Bains is 8 kms away and the ski station Guzet-Neige is 20 kms away.
