The gîte du Clot is situated at 950 m altitude on the southern flank of a wild, unspoilt valley dominated by the high mountains near the Spanish border. On the edge of the Mont Valier natural reserve, the gîte is an exceptional site for observation wildlife (isards venture very near, royal eagles, bearded griffons, etc.). It overlooks the entire Angouls valley and its rushing stream.Higher up is a beech forest, on either side of which are 2 listed oaks stands, classified as "bird refuges". Below the gîte are terraced meadows, grazed by cows and horses, and the owners' farm, where you leave your car. Access to the gîte is by foot, 250 m along the path leading to the gîte Cap de Quer (a further 750 m walk). The owners will transport your baggage and large provisions. |

*The gîte obtained the "Panda" label from the WWF (Worldwide Fund for Nature), given to Gîte de France accommodations that are environmentally exceptional and whose owners are engaged in nature conservation. |
Le Clot was built on the site of an old barn once occupied by sheep and goats. The traditional features of the structure have been replicated : walls in local stone and slate roof. The posts and beams and other woodwork were fashioned from trees in the nearby woods. Inside, the walls are insulated by an ivory coloured plaster composed of lime, sand and hemp. The 97 m2 house is on two levels: First floor: 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed (140x190 cm) and the other with a slightly smaller double bed (130x190 cm) and a single bed (90 cm). Toilet and bathroom. Electric heat in all rooms. Clothes washer. Telephone Outside, there is a terrace with garden furniture and barbeque.
