| Located in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees, 2 km from the village of Biert, this secluded gîte can accommodate 4 to 6 people. This mountain house, built of stone, wood and slate, is cool in summer and warm in winter thanks to its efficient wood burning stove. The spot is quiet and sunny, surrounded by nature with a view of the 3 Seigneurs massif. The village is 2 km by car and 1 km by foot along a trail. There you'll find a bar-restaurant and a bakery-grocery. 5 kms away the village of Massat is a bit bigger: food shops (including a whole foods shop), wine shop, pizzeria, restaurants, bar, pharmacy, shoe maker, post office, garage, doctor's office... For leisure activities, the Massat tourist office proposes various activities in the canton and further afield : family walks, mountain hiking, horseriding, walks with donkeys, paragliding, canoe-kayaking, cross-country skiing at the Etang de Lers 15 km away and downhill skiing at Guzet 37 km away, cycling, fishing and exploring historic sites. |

The gîte is an extension of the owners' house. The covered entryway is on the opposite side, facing west. The house was restored with high quality, natural materials including terra cotta, wood and natural plaster; solar panels furnish hot water. Around the property, sheep and chickens wander inside their enclosures. |
