A warm welcome awaits visitors to 'La Maire', a newly renovated 200-year-old farmhouse nestling in over 3 acres of beautiful grounds and offering wonderful views of the glorious Ariège countryside with glimpses of the high peaks of the Pyrenees, which are just a short drive away.
On the outskirts of the hamlet of St Victor Rouzaud, 'La Maire' is situated adjacent to a small dairy farm and is surrounded by fields - off the beaten track yet just 15 minutes drive from the lively town of Pamiers and about an hour from the city of Toulouse. A perfectly positioned base from which to explore this beautiful, historic and unspoilt corner of France.
After a day's exploration of the surrounding area, why not cool off in 'La Maire's newly-constructed swimming pool before enjoying a delicious table d'hôte dinner cooked by your friendly hosts, where fresh local produce and home-grown fruit and vegetables take centre stage. After dinner, relax on the terrace, which offers fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, or retire to one of the 3 comfortable guest bedrooms.
Gite/Self-catering

Pyrenees suite
This spacious room on the ground floor has French doors leading onto its own terrace with table and chairs and from there into the garden. It has an en-suite shower room, a sitting area and a small kitchenette for those who wish to self-cater. The Pyrenees Suite offers a king-sized double bed and a single bed. A second single bed can be provided on request.
Poplar room
King-sized double bedroom on the first floor offering excellent views of the back garden and valley beyond. A private bathroom is located just next door, with bath, shower, sink and toilet.
Chestnut room
Twin bedroom room on the first floor overlooking the front garden. Guests using the Chestnut room have sole use of the large private bathroom just down the hallway.
The Poplar and Chestnut rooms may be booked as a family suite, sharing the use of a bathroom.
Living accommodation
The ground floor open-plan living area at La Maire is available for use by guests at all times. The sitting room next to the kitchen has a variety of books, maps and board games and there is also a bar corner with tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and worktop for preparation of picnics.
Meals are served on the terrace over-looking the back garden during the summer months or in the large dining room. The terrace catches the morning sun, and also offers welcome shade from the heat at the end of the day.

For those guests who would like to join us for dinner, we serve a variety of delicious French and English inspired dishes, using produce directly from the garden, or from the local community whenever possible. Bookings are required a minimum of 24 hours in advance and if you have any special dietary requirements please let us know.
