view of the Pyrenees around Mt Valier from the pool La Bernadole is one of those privileged few gîtes in Ariège that enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Pyreneen chain around Mont Valier. At 800 m elevation the site's southern exposure allows you to eat outside on sunny days even in winter.

Whether you spend your time relaxing by the pool or exploring the network of walking, mountain bike and horseriding trails, you'll be moved by the beauty and tranquility of this isolated spot.

A typical mountain barn constructed in 1861, La Bernadole was enlarged and entirely renovated in 1997. You'll find all modern comforts: bathrooms, sitting room with fireplace, swimming pool, television, fax, internet... and a simple mountain welcome and convivial atmosphere.

Meals are prepared using fresh, local produce and served in the dining room, which has both a large family table and small ones for more intimacy. One of the two kitchens can be used in the off-season by individuals and groups that wish to cook their own meals.

Camping in the mountains

17 hectares of the property has been set aside and prepared for 15 camping sites, 4 of which are set far from the rest for perfect peace, and 4 reserved for caravans. Two caravans are available to rent. Fires can be made at each site--the wood will be supplied. You have access to the pool as well as other facilities of the gîte (bathroom, showers, wc, washing machine). You may also take your meals at the gîte on the terrace facing the mountains.
