This former post house on the banks of the Ariège river is conveniently situated in the centre of Tarascon, an ideal base for exploring the historic, and prehistoric, sites for which this part of Ariège is famous. The Prehistoric Art Park, the famous Niaux cave and others--Lombrives, Bedheilac, La Vache--are all just a few minutes drive from town. The Cathar château at Montségur, the Foix castle and other Cathar landmarks are all nearby. Other attractions include the Orlu natural reserve and the Plateau de Beille, the largest cross-country ski station in the Pyrenees and several times the finish of an important mountain stage of the Tour de France.

The hotel's 25 rooms (and 5 family rooms) are all equipped with TV, telephone, free wireless internet access and bathroom.

In the restaurant you'll enjoy fine regional cuisine on the terrace overlooking the river or by a crackling fire in winter.

In the lounge-bar you can relax and enjoy major sporting events on the satellite TV-VCR (Canal+, Eurosport...)
