Located on a farmstead at the edge of the historic center of the romanesque town of Saint Lizier, this first floor gîte offers a superb view of the mountains and overlooks Salat River. On site, the presence of a secured cave with vestiges of prehistoric man give the place a rare character.
The gîte is near the slate roofed barn that functions the entrance to a small theme park on the farm, Au Pays des Traces, that is dedicated to the science of ichnology or the study of traces left behind by living things. You have free access to the park and all its recreation facilities that have been conceived for families.
The close proximity of the hilltop village centre with its romanesque cathedral and frescos, the historic Bishops' Palace and its panoramic view of the valley and mountains provides an additional, cultural attraction to the location.
A few animals recall the original vocation of the farm: pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens (with the possibility of participating in their feeding and care).
The owners of the gîte are recognised as being among the foremost European specialists of the science of wildlife tracking and offer stays that combine the gîte accommodation with half-day workshops. See our site for details.
The gîte comprises:
- 1 bedroom with a double bed and clothes closet
- 1 mezzanine with beds for 2 children
- a fully equipped kitchen (sink, microwave, gas stove, fridge, cabinets and rubbish bins for recycling.
- 1 bathroom with shower, sink and toilet
- a wood stove
- a covered terrace
There is free access to a play area and the walking trail through the theme park.
The firewood and electricity are included in the rental price.
Possibility of free TNT television and WiFi on request.

Animals accepted with conditions.
The gîte is available starting at 3pm the day of arrival must be vacated by 11am the day of departure.
A security deposit will be requested upon your arrival and returned to you upon your departure if no damages have been found upon inspection of the gîte.
Housecleaning fee 35 € / sheets and household linens: 10 € per person
