T he farm is situated at 1070 m elevation in the High Couserans, at the foot of Mont Béas (1903m).
After the village of Erce (20 minutes by car) a narrow road winds through woods and meadows and leads to a little renovated barn at the end of the valley, nestled in the mountains. (The last 3 kilometres of the road are unpaved.) From April to November, explore the natural environment through the seasons: The valley has a rich pastoral history, with paths bordered by dry stone walls, numerous stonebuilt barns and the remains of shepherds' hamlets testifying to the peaceful way of life of times past. |
You will share our house, our meals and our lives during your stay.
You'll be able to savour the family cuisine pepared by Gisèle with vegetables from the garden and lamb raised on the farm. We receive you in 3 small rooms, each with a double bed and the possibility of an extra foldaway single bed. Two bathrooms, one with a toilet and shower, the other with sink and shower-tub, are shared by the three rooms. On the first floor, a large living and dining room that looks out onto the terrace with a view of the Mont Béas is open to everyone. |

We raise a local race of sheep as well as Mérens and Castillonais horses.
For leisure activities, there is of course horseback riding (Gisèle is a certified equestrian guide), fishing for wild trout in the stream a few metres from the farm, and walking on the many trails in the immediate vicinity. The étang (lake) de Lers is just on the other side of Mont Béas (90 minutes on foot or horseback, 45 minutes by car via Aulus-les-Bains) and there you can fish for trout in summer or cross-country ski in winter. |
