In Pyreneen patois, Enso means "chez" and Laborré is the nickname of the family that lived in this house at the beginning of the last century. Aleu is a very small village at 730 m elevation nestled in the side of the mountain, surrounded by greenery and facing the Mont Valier. If you live all year in the noise and stress of an urban area, the first thing you'll notice when you arrive in Aleu is the silence. From the village you can go on numerous mountain walks without having to get in your car. A good pair of shoes and a knapsack and your days will be quite full. Without traveling very far, you can go horseback riding, kayaking or fishing, and if you have children they'll love going on walks on the back of a donkey which you can hire for the day not far from the village. For the more intrepid, there is no shortage of high altitude hikes to enjoy.
