In the hamlet of Pla Marty at the end of a path that leads into the forest, our gîte l'Echappée verte ("green escape') is there to receive you for several nights, a weekend or a week of relaxation in a generously verdant setting.

At 750m elevation, 5 km above Foix, Pla Marty offers a beautiful view of the Roquefixade and Montségur chateaux, the Barguillère valley and the imposing Mount Fourcat.

Just continue a few kilometres into the National Regional Park and you'll discover the breathtaking panoramic view from the heights of the Prat d'Albis.

The gîte is part of a renovated stone-built farmstead that is surrounded by forest land where you often see wildlife and hear the mating calls of the stags.

 

The gîte comprises, on the ground floor, a 23 m2 living room with dining area and fully-equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer) and a couch plus a double bedroom containing two single beds (which can be conneced together), a separate toilet and bathroom with a large shower and washbasin.

On the first floor the large bay windows let in the sun in the morning to illuminate the salon with its TV, library and games. A bedroom with a large double bed (160cm) looks out onto the meadow and the forest.

We will be happy to make your acquaintance on our large green terrace under the lime tree.

You will also have available to you a private terrace with garden furniture and a barbeque as well as a sunny corner of the meadow that overlooks the house and has a beautiful view of the mountain.

Foix is the meeting point of several "pays" of Ariège which allows you to explore the rolling hills of the lower Ariege as well as the high mountains to the south. Toulouse, Andorra and Carcassonne are one hour by car. This varied and wild department is a paradise for mountain lovers (hiking, mountain biking, horse trekking, rockclimbing, kayaking, paragliding, adventure parks, winter sports, fishing, golf...)

The rich historic patrimony (Cathar castles, medieval villages, prehistoric caves, romanesque architecture, museums tracing each era of Ariège's history) will delight lovers of art and history. In additional, many festivals enliven the summer months.
