L'Echappée Belle is a hamlet lying at 600 m altitude and 15 minutes from the town of St Girons in the Couserans region.

To get there you have to navigate a narrow, winding road through the mountains but you're really rewarded once you arrive. The site is magnificent, quiet and far from everything. All the houses and outbuildings belong to a single, extended family and the lanes have street signs with the names of its inhabitants.

Muriel (your hostess and a beekeeper) and François (a mountaineering and canyoning guide) who have been welcoming guests for over 20 years, have renovated 5 guest bedrooms and decorated them around the theme of the 5 continents.

Where will you sleep tonight ? In America, in a Gold Rush ambiance, in Africa, in Asia, in the heart of the Carpathians, in the cozy charm of wood and central European furniture, or in Oceania, a little independent stone house like an island in the middle of the hamlet? Meals are served on site, in a vast room on the ground floor, with a salon, fireplace and terrace.

Muriel, who loves good food, prepares the meals using as much as possible her own produce--generous cusine to be savoured in a convivial atmosphere.
