Why are we called "Des Irréductibles Cathares"?*
* the indomitable cathars
We are located in the Pyrenees in the heart of Cathar country, just a stone's throw from the château de Roquefixade and 5 km from the mythic "pog" of Montségur where in 1244, after a long siege by the forces of the Pope and the French king, the last Cathar "Perfects" chose to die on the pyre rather than renounce their faith.

Fidelity, obstinence, courage, tenacity... Terriers and the Cathars share these traits. What could be more natural than to associate the two and thus revive a glorious past?
