Kevin and Rebecca give you a warm welcome for a relaxing stay at L'Ancienne Bergerie, situated at 700m at the end of a small lane in the Hameau of Le Chateau. It's a peaceful location nestled into the hillside of the valley de la Bellongue with an open south-facing vista.
Having tenderly renovated the former Bergerie, we have retained its charm and character to offer a comfortable stay with a peaceful ambiance, providing 3 en-suite bedrooms, sleeping a total of 7 guests.The ground floor has a spacious living room and dining area which leads out onto the terrace, an ideal place to relax and unwind while admiring the tranquil countryside and beech woodlands, with our Gascon pigs, sheep and chickens grazing in the pasture.
Our training as a chef (Rebecca) and a gardener (Kevin) enables us to combine our passion for food and ingredients, thereby offering you “table d’hôte dining” – a gastronomic adventure to experience local Artisan produce of cheese, meats, honey and fish, complemented with our homegrown produce and wild food harvests.

Being in the heart of the countryside enables you to enjoy all it has to offer from our doorstep. A 100m stroll from L’Ancienne Bergerie brings you onto the GR78 route of Saint Jacques de Compostelle, which in turn joins many walking paths and VTT routes through out the valley, passing through small villages with their timeless essence and architecture.
For the more adventurous walker there are routes leading you to the higher Pics and the GR10. The outdoors Pays Couserans is a kaleidoscope of colours and wildlife; you'll enjoy identifying wild flowers and observing isards, marmottes, and vultures. Cyclists can enjoy a seasoned part of Le Tour de France, heading up over the Col de Portet d’Aspet (5kms), or over towards the valley Bethmale and La Col de La Core (28kms).
