Founded in 1138 by the count of Pallars, the abbey hosted Louis VII in 1154 while he made his pilgrimage along the Way of Saint James to Compostella. This Romanesque edifice in the "mudéjar"* style, listed as an historical monument, is one of the jewels of the Couserans. It is surrounded by gardens that evoke gardens across the ages : from medieval to classic French. |
| Today it is a private home that also serves as a setting for cultural events.
The guest room is a suite comprising a small salon, a double bed in curtained alcove, a small kitchen, bathroom and a walk-in closet. It enjoys a view of the garden and countryside, as well as peace and quiet.
The abbey and gardens can be visited in July, August and September every day between 3:00 and 6:00 pm, and the rest of the year upon request by phoning 05 61 96 37 33 or 06 07 99 35 82 (mobile).
